Our Story

Lunation Wines was founded by Chris and Toloe, two people brought together by a shared love of wine, travel, and discovering the stories behind every bottle.

What started as a passion for exploring small vineyards across Europe soon became something much bigger. Time and time again, we found ourselves meeting incredible winemakers producing exceptional wines that simply weren't reaching the UK market. Families who had spent generations perfecting their craft, creating wines full of character and authenticity, yet largely unknown outside their local regions. We knew these were wines worth sharing.

Today, Lunation Wines is our way of connecting those hidden gems with wine lovers who are looking for something genuinely special. We work directly with independent, family-run vineyards, carefully selecting wines that we personally love and would proudly serve at our own table.

Many of our producers make fewer than 30,000 bottles a year, focusing on quality, tradition, and sustainable practices rather than mass production. The result is a collection of wines that tell a story of place, people, and passion — wines that you simply won't find in the supermarket.

The name Lunation Wines holds a particularly special place in our hearts. Inspired by Toloe's late mother, whose name meant "full moon", it reflects the warmth, kindness, and authenticity that continue to guide everything we do. Those values shape not only the wines we choose, but also the relationships we build with our producers and customers.
