Red

Red wine is made red grapes only.  This is due to the wine taking its colour from the grape skins remaining in contact with the juice during fermentation. This process is called maceration. 

The skins from the red grape give the wine its colour, flavour, and texture whilst also extracting the tannins from the skins.

Tannins, found in the skins, seeds, and stems, contribute to the wine's structure, bitterness, and aging potential.
